As tickets to this trip is limited, it's a first come first serve basis. Registration to travel with us starts from 9pm, 24 June (Friday) until 30 June (Thursday) so you have plenty of time to check your budget for the trip and to get permission to travel!
- What is an Advent Calendar?
Traditionally, an advent calendar helps to countdown the days until Christmas. For Coddiwomple Advent Calendar, the countdown will start from 1st of December 2022. Each day until Christmas, a numbered box corresponding to the date shall be opened. The full skein will be opened on the last day, which is Christmas day. All 24 mini skeins and 1 full skein will be individually packaged. These skeins and other content will be delivered in a size 80 box. - Why is the price different from buying single skeins from your shop?
Making individual mini skeins is very labour intensive. There are also a lot of creative preparation and labour into setting up the boxes and making it looking cohesive and pretty. On top of that, there are also fees and costs for packaging, translation/purchases of pattern, accessories and other knick-knacks to make opening the box an enjoyable experience. - Will there be changes in the content of the box after we placed an order?
There may be changes of the content of the box as we have not confirmed purchases as of now. If there is an increase of price of yarn, packaging etc. before production, we will be forced to change some of the content. However, we will be giving back items of the same value. - Is this going to be a fade set?
Coddiwomple Advent Calendar will not be a fade set. - I am not based in Japan, can I still purchase a box?
We are open to overseas customers. We will send your box by Japan Post EMS if possible but if the route to your country is not available at the time of delivery, we will use Yamato International instead. Shipping charges will not be billed upon purchase but to be billed before delivery.
We have opened up to more countries in Asia, Europe and Northern America for the Advent Calendar order (and working on opening up for future updates too!). If you don’t see your country in the checkout list, please let me know and I’ll add it in.
- How much is shipping?
For local orders, shipping cost is free.
For overseas orders, we will send you another bill for difference in shipping on a later date. Please choose 'Advent Calendar' shipping method upon check out. At this moment, due to the delicate timing and unconfirmed weightage, we couldn't get a confirmed postage cost but it should be in the range of ¥3000 - ¥6000, depending on the type of courier available to your country. We would use Japan Post EMS whenever possible or Yamato International if Japan Post couldn't reach to your country. - Can I add on other items when purchasing the Coddiwomple Advent Calendar?
I'm sorry, due to the size of the box and shipping limitation, please order separately. - How long will you be opening the Coddiwomple Advent Calendar for orders?
The Coddiwomple Advent Calendar is a pre-order. The window to accept orders is between 25 - 30 June or until the maximum amount of sets is reached. - Can I still buy the Coddiwomple Advent Calendar after the pre-order dates?
Once the order is closed, I will not be accepting new orders due to logistic issues. - Is there an installment plan?
As much as I want to, I am not able to offer an installment plan at this moment. - When will I receive the Coddiwomple Advent Calendar?
The Coddiwomple Advent Calendar is a pre-order. It will take us a few months to prepare your orders. It will then be shipped out in November so that you can start opening them on 1 December onwards. - Which yarn bases are available?
Same as last year, there will only be 1 choice, which is the ITOBITO Sock base that consists of 85% SW Extrafine Merino and 15% Nylon. - Which pattern is included in the box? Can I exclude it from the box?
This is going to be a surprise as with everything else in the box! It cannot be excluded from the box and will be given out digitally. Your choice of language can be chosen during download. - What accessories are included in the Coddiwomple Advent Calendar?
This will also be a surprise! - Will there be a KAL this year?
As I will be busy end of the year through early next year, I'm afraid that I might not have the time to host a KAL but if there is any changes, I'll be sure to inform! - What is the meaning of Coddiwomple?
The word coddiwomple is an English slang, defined as “to travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination”.
